About
I'm Terry (Haoran Yang). I work at the intersection of machine learning and machines that fly. Engineering Science at the University of Toronto started in September 2026.
Hiking, tennis, aerial photography, and detective fiction when I am not looking at images of wires.

Engineering Science at the University of Toronto, starting September 2026.
Late August I shipped three local tools: a CLNx resume tailor (Chrome extension + pdflatex, nothing leaves the machine), a local music player with on-device recommendations, and WeChat Auto Reply, which drafts on localhost and only types after I click.
Last summer I was a junior researcher at UTIAS Flight Systems and Control — the thin-obstacle detector. I am still on ARC 2026: closing the loop from a single camera to a catch setpoint in simulation. I write contest math for the Ontario Competitive Mathematics Committee (50+ problems; contests reach 500+ students a year) and teach small-group problem-solving at Leading Aces Academy.
Coursera / DeepLearning.AI Machine Learning Specialization, June 2026. Certificate.
